Emails! Emails for All!
Hello, Blog Reader!
Today I want to talk about a subject that we all must deal with on a daily basis: Spammy Emails.
Alright, so if you are one of the few who do not have an email address (which I highly doubt, if you are reading this…), then you probably do not have a clue what I am talking about. However, this post isn’t for you.
Recently, I have been the recipient of MANY spam emails (and spam phone calls). Why? Because sometimes people are mean and like to put your email into stupid places on the net. I don’t like to name names and I won’t. Mostly because I don’t know how it actually happened. I have an idea, but that isn’t relevant.
That’s slightly beside the the point…
Sometimes I laugh at the spam emails I get in my junk folder.
For instance, one particular one was titled: ASIAN DATING.
Funny for a few reasons:
1) I am not Asian.
2) I do not want to date an Asian. (Not that they aren’t lovely people, I just am not attracted to them. I do think they are great friends, though.)
Another made me laugh even harder. The subject line, you ask?
YOUR EX HAS SEARCHED FOR YOU.
Why is this SO funny to me? Simple: I don’t have any exes. I have never been in a “serious” relationship. (Also another story for another time.)
Spam emails never seem to be relevant.
The ones that I prefer (haha, am I right?) are the ones that you can unsubscribe from. Usually, they will have two “unsubscribe” buttons, which take you to two different places… So, obviously they REALLY want to keep your info. Some just unsubscribe you with the click, but others make you type in your email address. This is clever, because you may have a typo and they can still keep your information…
And after you hit the button they have a nice little “Sorry to see you go!” message to make you feel bad.
So, that’s my rant for today. I am just really tired of all the spam that I get.
27 emails and at least 3 calls a day is a bit much, ya know? I already have to clear my inbox of all the Pinterest and facebook emails every day… *Sigh*
