Deadpool: What’s it all about?
As both a Marvel fan and a stickler when it comes to movie ratings, I have found myself debating whether or not seeing Deadpool would be a good idea.
Honestly, I thought about it for a while. I love Ryan Reynolds and I’ve heard good things about the movie from a Marvel standpoint, so these things say it’s a good movie, right?
However, I made a decision a long time ago that I would never watch an R-rated movie.
The longer I live, the more ambiguity I face each day. One thing about this choice is certain: I will not watch an R-rated movie just because it might have some good parts.
I’ve seen a lot of talk floating around urging parents not to take their children to see Deadpool. If we are to become as little children (like Christ teaches us we must), shouldn’t we as adults also be offended by the filth?
Now, I don’t think it makes you a bad person if you do go see this movie, but let me pose a sincere question:
If it is bad for children, why is it okay for us? Aren’t we all children of God?
What are your thoughts on Deadpool? If you wouldn’t normally watch an R-rated movie, why is this one okay to you?
